The place

Frenchies is a Connecticut coffee company running two active locations — Stratford and Bridgeport, with the Bridgeport shop at Steelpointe Harbor. A business with regulars, a counter rhythm, and a growing operation whose identity lives in the room, not in software.

The problem

A multi-location coffee company needed customers to order ahead, earn rewards and pay — at counter speed, without adding work behind the bar, and without routing regulars through a marketplace built for someone else's economics.

The system

Quiet Bands built two layers around the operation: the customer-facing web application — order-ahead, punch-card loyalty, payments — and the admin infrastructure behind it, Square-connected and designed to Frenchies' menu, hours and pace. All of it presented entirely in Frenchies' own identity.

The experience

  • OrderingCustomers order ahead from the live menu and pick up at the counter.
  • LoyaltyBuy five of any item and the sixth is free — each item keeps its own punch card, tracked automatically.
  • PaymentsHandled through Square, integrated with the register the shop already runs.
  • InstallCustomers tap a QR code and it's on their phone. No app store, no download.
  • LocationsServes the two active Frenchies locations — Stratford and Bridgeport — each with its own hours and pickup.

The decisions

  • Web over app storeA progressive web app removes install friction entirely — critical for a counter-speed business.
  • Square, not a new registerThe system integrates with the payment stack the shop already trusts instead of replacing it.
  • Punch card, not points mathThe loyalty model customers already understand, made automatic.
  • Frenchies leadsThe interface carries the shop's identity, not ours. Quiet Bands is nowhere in the customer's experience.

What it exposed

Building inside a real operation surfaced the pattern Quiet Bands now works on: how much promised value in physical businesses is still delivered by hand — eligibility tracked in heads, redemption on trust, reconciliation in spreadsheets. The gap between the promise and the operation became the company's territory.

In production

The system is live at frenchiesapp.com. It is shipped work — Built 001, and the shape of the thesis: a purpose-built system attached to a real operation, quiet enough that the shop stays the experience.
